Friends who drive will know that the car battery needs to be replaced after a long time. Otherwise, it will affect the normal driving of the car.

In normal conditions, the battery refers to a lead-acid battery. The normal service life of a car battery ranges from 1 to 8 years. It has a lot to do with the usage of the vehicle.

The internal resistance of some batteries will become very large after a long period. And there will be a situation where the battery is fully charged and discharged. This kind of battery will be normal if its no-load voltage display is measured with a meter. Therefore, it is not possible to simply measure the no-load voltage to determine whether the battery needs to be replaced. And it needs to measure the discharge current of the battery with a discharge meter.

When discharging, the voltage is normal as long as it is not lower than 10V. If it is lower than 10V, it proves that the battery may broke. In this case, it must be replaced. The lower the voltage during loading, the greater the internal resistance of the battery. Thus, the worse the discharge aspects of the battery.

What happens to the car battery is a precursor to the need to replace it. One is when the indicator light of the car battery is on or bulging occurs. This is the most common and intuitive sign.

Once the car battery failure indicator on the dashboard of the car lights up, the car owner must pay attention to it. As long as the fault light is on, it means that the car battery has failed. Once it is found that the car battery has a bulging phenomenon, the cause must be investigated. Generally speaking, there are two reasons for the bulging of the battery. The first is long-term charging. The other reason may be the blocking of the battery's exhaust hole. Both of these conditions are signs of battery failure.

This requires driving the car to a repair shop for repairs. And replacing them in time when conditions permit. It can effectively prevent accidents during future driving.

The second situation is when the headlights dim. Everyone knows that the power for the headlights, brake lights and audio equipment on the car comes from the car’s battery.

If you find that the lights of the car’s headlights become very dim, or you find that the lights of the brake lights are weak when braking. This means that the car battery is about to fail and needs to be replaced.

The reason is that when the car is idling, the charging power of the car will drop. It will cause the battery to not provide the corresponding voltage. And the lights mainly supplied by the battery will be correspondingly dimmed.

Another situation is that when the car is difficult to start. It is one of the important manifestations of car battery failure. If the car owner can start the car normally, but suddenly finds that the car is difficult to start. It means that there is a problem with the car’s battery. In many cases, this situation indicates that the car battery may be nearly scrapped and can no longer supply power to the car normally. It is necessary for car owners to replace the battery as soon as possible. Or the car will not be able to drive normally.
