Bentley is working on a compact model line previewed by last year's EXP 10 Speed 6 concept.

"We are readying the concept for a decision," said CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer. "It would come as a two-door coupe, but a roadster is possible as well, and it would be launched after the next Continental."

At the upper end of the portfolio, Bentley is considering a limited production run of a Mulsanne-based convertible.

"We could do such a car through the Mulliner division, a total of 20 units at a very high price," Duerheimer said. "It could come in two years."

A convertible is likely to be offered as well on the next generation of the Mulsanne, slated for a launch in four to five years.

That model will lose its traditional 6.75-liter V-8, an engine rooted in the 1950s, in favor of a twin-turbocharged W-12.
