Car headlights are what we call high beam and low beam. The left and right headlights in front of the car look like two human eyes. They can light the way forward.

There are three main types of car headlights currently on the market. Halogen headlights, xenon headlights, and LED headlights. The three types of headlights have their own advantages. So how should car owners choose?

1. Halogen Headlights

Halogen headlights actually add gaseous halogen to the sealed interior of the incandescent lamp we often say. The main function of gaseous halogen is to increase the service life. Halogen headlights are the most widely used. It has simple structure, low cost, and strong penetration in rain and fog. The disadvantages are obvious. The luminous efficiency is not high. The illumination brightness is relatively low. The heat generated is large. Halogen bulbs emit light in all directions. Its nature is astigmatic light source, which gathers light by using a reflector. We use a halogen lamp as a light source. And a lamp group that gathers light through a reflector is called a reflective halogen lamp.

2. Xenon Headlights

Xenon headlights are high-intensity discharge gas lamps. It uses arc discharge to emit light. Compared with halogen headlights, the advantages of xenon headlights are obvious. High brightness, long life and low power consumption. When the white light shines, it can shine in your eyes instantly. Friends who want to modify xenon headlights must remember to install lenses. The most important thing about driving is safety. Of course, this kind of hernia headlights still have disadvantages. Its penetration in rain and fog is not as good as halogen headlights, and it can only reach 20% of the rated brightness when the lights are turned on for 0.8 seconds. Turn on the headlights within 4 seconds to reach 80% of the rated brightness.

3. LED Headlights

Due to the needs of design, aerodynamics and aesthetics. The appearance of low-profile streamlines is becoming more and more popular. The shape of the headlights is also developing towards alienation and integration. The application volume of automotive LED headlights has increased.

Speaking of LED headlights, everyone is no stranger to it. That is, light emitting diode. Its advantages are more obvious. High brightness, easy to make various shapes. Low energy consumption, only 5% of halogen headlights. It has a long lifespan, even if the headlights of the car are scrapped. The light up as soon as it opens. Unlike xenon headlights that take a certain time to reach maximum brightness. LED headlights have disadvantages. Difficult heat dissipation. The cost is high. So only some high-end models are available. Audi is the main user of LED headlights.

The three kinds of headlights are actually not too problematic in daily use. Only the distinction between strong, stronger and particularly strong. To make it clear, it depends on whether everyone has sufficient funds. It is best to choose LED headlights if you have sufficient funds. If you want to be economical and practical, choose halogen headlights to meet daily use.
