Chevrolet dealer Eric McCracken recently plunked down $1,500 to have a local corn-maze operator carve an image of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray into a 39-acre field.

Now McCracken just needs General Motors to ship him one.

McCracken, owner of Lee Kinstle Chevrolet in tiny Van Wert, Ohio, about 100 miles southwest of Toledo, didn't qualify to carry seventh-generation Vette, which rolls into dealerships in October. GM has limited allocation to about 900 of its highest-volume Corvette dealerships.

So McCracken decided to get creative.

"I've got pictures on our Facebook page" he says of the corn maze, which also includes an image of a 1953 Vette to mark the nameplate's 60th anniversary. "If we get enough likes, maybe Chevy will give me a '14 Corvette to sell."

So far GM hasn't obliged. But McCracken's sponsorship at least gets him some advertising around Kernel Coopers Corn Maze and some free tickets for his employees and customers.

He isn't giving up hope that GM might reconsider.

McCracken said: "I doubt there is any dealer out there who's done a 39-acre aerial billboard for the Corvette."
