BIRMINGHAM, England -- Most assembly plants in Russia are not cost-competitive because they do not produce enough vehicles, says Bo Andersson, CEO of Russia's largest carmaker, AvtoVAZ.

Among the plants Andersson says do not produce enough to make money: Ford and its partner Sollers' three factories in the country, as well as General Motors' two factories.
